Barbara received a B.A. in Art/Advertising Design in 1986 from The College of New Jersey. Her early career was spent in advertising as an art director, then later in marketing communications. In 2002, she was able to embark on her fine art career, pursuing it full steam ahead, and continues with stubborn determination.
She works in pastel and oil, using an impressionist style to paint primarily landscapes. She holds Signature memberships in the Pastel Society of America, American Impressionist Society, and Oil Painters of America, and has earned the distinction of Eminent Pastelist in the International Association of Pastel Societies. She was chosen as an Artist to Watch in the January 2017 issue of Southwest Art, and was among the teaching faculty for the 2017 Plein Air Convention.
