Trust No One

CAROLYN HANCOCK is a pastels only, portrait and figurative artist. Her paintings tell a story of a moment in time, highlighting the emotion and personality of the individual.
“Color is irresistible to me -- I might drench the subject in rich, vivid color or hold back in favor of natural, light effects,” says Hancock. Her painterly style strikes a balance between the glowing luminosity of the pastel medium to texture and thick impasto strokes of color.
Hancock has studied with master pastelists Daniel Greene, Bob Rohm, Doug Dawson, Bob Gerbracht, Anatoly Dverin, William Schneider, Alain Picard, Cuong Nguyen, and Jeanne Rosier Smith. Her international exhibitions have placed her work in collections throughout the world.
She has been awarded Associate Member status with the Pastel Society of America, and was President of the Pastel Society of Southeast Texas in 2014 and 2015. She designed and maintains the PSST website. Hancock is also a member of the Portrait Society of America, the American Impressionistic Society,, and the Art League of Fort Bend.
